Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, also known as XXXTentacion, was an American rapper and songwriter. He garnered quick fame among young fanbases due to his music centered around depression and alienation themes.
He had a cult following and was acclaimed by critics for his versatility. He explored emo, trap metal, nu metal, indie rock, lo-fi, Hip-Hop, and R&B. During the mid to late 2010s, and he garnered mainstream attention due to emo and SoundCloud rap genres.

Early Life
Born on January 23, 1993, in Plantation, Florida, he had a hole in his heart at birth, so he never grew taller than five feet six inches. His grandmother raised Onfroy due to his mother’s problems. When he was six, he stabbed a man who tried to attack his mother.
He was admitted to a youth program afterward. As a child, he discovered his uncle’s body, who had committed suicide by hanging. He wrote about his trauma in his songs many times. In 2017, he spoke about an adult abusing her as a child. He also witnessed someone being tortured and someone being raped. His mother confirmed that his father used to beat him as a child.
His father was arrested in a drug case and later deported back to Jamaica in 2016. When asked about his relationship with his father, he said, “What’s a father?” As a child, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He had described himself as a misfit and depressed during high school.
Career
He debuted in 2013 with his single News/flock; while in Juvenile detention for gun possession charges, he met another artist Stokeley Goulbourne who went by the name “Ski Mask the Slump God.” However, there was controversy on the matter. They both were reported to meet in high school, became good friends, and started freestyling together. Onfroy attacked a gay inmate for staring at him while he changed clothes. He later clarified that he didn’t have a problem with his sexuality and supported gay rights.
He left the life of crime for music because he thought it would be a better outlet for him, and then-girlfriend Geneva Ayala made him realize that.
Onfroy made headlines as a “domestic abuser” when he assaulted his girlfriend, who was pregnant with his child. When he was murdered, many stars like Miley Cyrus and Kanye West added him to their tweets and stories. On the other hand, most of the women had spoken up about how his tragic death did not give him a clean slate. The wrongs he committed were still appalling.

Two masked men in Florida murdered him after leaving a sports store which probably was a case of intended robbery. He contained multiple gunshot wounds on his neck. He was taken to the hospital afterward and died after two hours. Gardon of Boca Raton memorial park is his resting place.
