Early Life & Career
In 2011, Cole released his debut album, “Cole World: The Sideline Story. It debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 and was later considered platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His following releases, “2013’s Born Sinner” and “2014’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive”, were critically acclaimed. Both albums were certified platinum in the U.S. 2014’s Forest Hills Drive also went platinum without any features.
The latter lead him to earn his first Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Album. In December 2016, Cole released his fourth studio album, “4 Your Eyez” Only. The album secured the number one position on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified platinum in April 2017.
As a self-taught pianist, Cole became a producer with his hip-hop career. He started producing singles for artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Janet Jackson, handling most of the production in his projects. He has also developed other ventures, including Dreamville Records and a nonprofit organization called the Dreamville Foundation. In January 2015, Cole gave single mothers rent-free shelter in his childhood home in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Personal Life
J Cole is happily married to Melissa Heholt, an American professional event planner, manager, and executive director of Dreamville Foundation, a nonprofit organization. However, she is prominent as the wife of an American-German hip-hop artist. She used to be a teacher but switched her career to event planning.
He has an ongoing beef with nba young Boy, who has dissed him and lil yachty on multiple occasions. J. Cole recently made waves when he appeared to diss Kanye West, Wale, Lil Yachty, and Lil Uzi Vert on a pair of new songs off his upcoming album 4 Your Eyez Only.
Yachty, on the other hand, responded to Cole’s song “Everybody Dies” as;
“It was cool,” he said. “I don’t listen to J. Cole. I listened to it. It flooded my shit. It was everywhere. People said he was talking about me. I listened to it. He said, Lil. I’m not little. My name has Lil in it, but there are a lot of Lil rappers. [It’s] either me or Uzi. Honestly, I don’t give a f***.”
J Cole Outfits
Like his music, his fashion is also versatile. He has been seen experimenting with business casual, urban, everyday, and grunge fashion when it comes to clothing.
He is wearing a lime green turtleneck under a dark raisin-colored trench coat. He has paired it with a hot magenta-colored pair of pants and a matching belt.
His shoes are a beautiful contrast of sea green and blue. The whole look is a fantastic contrast of colors, not to mention a treat for the eyes.
Here, he is wearing a black T-shirt underneath a camouflage jacket, bringing a mix of athleisure and casual to light.
He paired it with a black and grey pair of jeans and black boots. He accessorized with a simple black belt and what appeared to be a dog tag.
Plaid trench coats are the classiest, and he is wearing one over a dark green sweater and a khaki wide-legged pair of pants.
His brown belt matches his brown sandals. His unique footwear makes a huge statement.
