He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on January 6, 1999, to Taurus Bartlet and Stacia Mac. Stacia Mac was a former property dealer and is now Polo’s manager.
He has three other siblings; two sisters and a brother. His younger brother Taurian is also a rapper. He goes by the stage name “Trench Baby.” After high school, he was accepted to Lincoln University as a Broadcasting major, but he decided to pursue music as a full-time career. His name has been linked to a gang called “Vice Lords,” also known to have a feud with Gangster Disciples.

In 2019, he was hospitalized for a near-fatal drug overdose after his friend Juice had passed off an overdose. He was charged with three felonies; resisting arrest, criminal mischief, and resisting an officer without violence.
